Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 20, 2026
The privacy of your data—and it is your data, not ours—is a big deal to us. In this policy, we lay out: what data we collect and why; how your data is handled; and your rights with respect to your data. We promise we never sell your data: never have, never will.
This policy applies to all products built and maintained by colorontable, including the website at colorontable.com and related recipe browsing, account, and saved-recipe features.
What We Collect and Why
Our guiding principle is to collect only what we need to run colorontable and help you discover and save recipes. Here's what that means in practice:
- Identity and access: When you sign up, we ask for identifying information such as an email address, username (nickname), and account preferences. If you sign in with Google, we receive basic profile information (such as name and email) from Google according to your Google account settings. We use this so you can personalize your account, stay signed in, save recipes, and receive essential system notifications. We will never sell your personal information to third parties, and we will not use your name in marketing materials without your explicit permission.
- Saved recipes and activity: When you save a recipe, we store the association between your account and that recipe so you can find it later. We may also keep basic usage information (such as pages visited and device/browser type) to operate, secure, and improve the site.
- Cookies and session data: We use session cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, protect forms (including security checks), and remember preferences needed for the service to work.
- Security checks: We may use bot-protection or similar security tools on login and related forms. Those tools may process limited technical data (such as IP address or browser signals) to distinguish humans from automated traffic.
- Billing information: Standard consumer use of colorontable is free. We do not currently collect payment card details for ordinary browsing or accounts. If we introduce paid features later, payment details would be handled by a third-party payment processor and described in an updated policy before you purchase.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and maintain the Services (accounts, saved recipes, profile settings)
- Personalize your experience (for example, showing recipes you have saved)
- Keep the site secure and prevent abuse
- Understand how the site is used so we can improve it
- Communicate important service updates when needed
We do not sell your personal information.
AI and Content Processing
colorontable may use automated tools (including AI services) for internal publishing and site features operated by our staff—for example, helping prepare recipe content, images, or related metadata for the catalog. Those tools are not used to train public foundation models on your private account data.
We do not use your account profile, email, or saved-recipe list to train external public AI models. When staff tools send content to AI providers, that happens through provider APIs under our accounts and is limited to operating and improving the recipe catalog and site features.
Security Overview
We take measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure:
- In transit: Data transmitted between your browser and colorontable is encrypted using industry-standard TLS (HTTPS).
- Storage: Account and application data are stored in cloud databases and related infrastructure with access controls. Access is restricted to systems and personnel who need it to run or support the Services.
- Personnel access: We do not casually read your private account details. Human access is limited to providing support you request, securing the platform, or debugging system issues.
When We Access or Disclose Your Information
- To provide services you've requested: We use trusted third-party subprocessors (such as hosting, database, authentication, email, and security providers) to deliver colorontable. These systems handle data under their privacy terms and our operational needs.
- When required under law: We only preserve or share data with authorities if compelled by a binding legal process. If we must disclose data, we aim to share only what is legally required.
Examples of third-party categories we may use include hosting providers, database and storage services (such as Supabase), authentication providers (such as Google sign-in), security services (such as bot protection), and infrastructure partners needed to run the site.
Your Rights with Respect to Your Information
We respect privacy rights for users of colorontable, regardless of location:
- Right to know and access: You can review account information available in your profile and on the site while signed in.
- Right to correction: You can update profile details (such as nickname) in your account settings when available.
- Right to erasure: You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting us.
- Right to portability: Your data belongs to you. You may request a copy of personal account information we hold by contacting support.
- Right to non-discrimination: We will not provide inferior support solely because you exercise privacy rights.
Account Deletion
If you choose to delete your account, your account will become inaccessible. Personal account data and saved-recipe associations tied to your account will be removed from active systems within a reasonable period (typically within 30 days), and from routine backups within a longer backup cycle (typically within 60 days), except where we must retain limited records for legal or security reasons. We cannot recover deleted account data once it has been permanently purged.
Changes and Questions
We may update this policy as needed to match new product features and comply with technical or legal requirements. Whenever we update our policies, we will adjust the date at the top of this document.
If you have any questions, comments, or concerns about this privacy policy, your personal data, or your rights, please email us at support@colorontable.com and we will be happy to assist you.
